I ate this on the trail and immediately wanted to know what the glorious concoction was made of. Luckily, I got the recipe and now can snack on it without the steep hill behind me. Though, it might make me need to get out on the trail.
Sweet and Spicy Nut Mix
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 3/4 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cayenne powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup pistachio
- 3/4 cup raw cashews
- 1/2 cup raw almonds
- 1/4 cup raw pepitas
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1/4 cup goji berries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the spices in a small bowl and set aside.
In a separate larger bowl, toss the nuts with the maple syrup, coating the nuts. Sprinkle the spices over the nuts and toss well to coat.
Spread the nuts onto a large baking sheet and roast for 10-12 minutes until toasted. Remove from the oven and toss with the goji berries. Cool before serving.

Just in time! I was craving something like this yesterday. I am going to change it a little. Can’t eat cashews or pistachios. So I will supplement with walnuts and macademias. Thank you!
